    ‘My training is still going well but I seem to be eating everything right now! Lots of fuel needed I guess. The other think I’m struggling with is giving up alcohol for any period of time. Anyway 2 weeks to my wedding so there certainly won’t be any abstaining on honeymoon!

    1 small set back has been some ongoing problems with my right knee. I’ve had scans and the like and am awaiting a final opinion from my surgeon as to the next move. I’ve tried rest and returning to a decent regime of physio exercise but neither has helped to date. I should find out before I go on holiday. I haven’t been able to run as often as I would like and I had to be careful what I do in the gym but in terms of training intensity it hasn’t really affected me. I will be ready to go on August 29!

    Our quiz night was a success and we raised around £900. Turn out was very good and we appreciate everyone’s support. The photo of me from the night has got to be the worst picture ever! Cheers for that Smallwood.

    I trust the rest of the team are training hard and we’ll hopefully get together to do some training soon. I suggest a 25 mile, day long trek/jog somewhere, if we only go as fast as the slowest person it’ll be good for team building and test how we work as a team! I’ll set a date soon’

    My training is progressing well. I’m getting three or four 6 mile runs in every week and getting to the gym most weekdays, football three times a week too. But I still have very little hill experience. I’m using more incline machines at the gym, stepper, cross trainer and treadmill, but they are so boring!!
